Adventure World is a theme park in Wakayama Prefecture, combining a zoo, an amusement park, and an aquarium. In its popular 'Panda Love' facility, you can see many pandas up close. In the Safari Zone, not only can you see elephants, giraffes, lions, and other animals in a natural-like environment, but you can also experience feeding them. The dolphin shows in the huge stadium and the animal shows featuring various animals are not to be missed. In addition to these attractions, there are amusement park facilities, providing a full day of fun.

Adventure World opening hours, closing days, and admission fees
Adventure World offers 1-day admission tickets as well as 2-day admission tickets. For example, the prices for a one-day admission ticket are as follows:
・Adults (18 years and older) 5,300 yen
・Senior (over 65 years old) 4,800 yen
・Junior high school students (junior high school students/high school students) [12 years old to 17 years old] 4,300 yen
・Child (infant/elementary school student) [4 years old to 11 years old] 3,300 yen

The park is open from 10:00 to 17:00. There are some days when we are open at night. The park is closed every Wednesday, but may also be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Once you have decided on the date of your visit, please check the official website 「Schedule - Park Guide」.
Panda Love
Giant pandas are bred at Panda Love. This is a very popular facility at Adventure World. You can see the pandas lively both outdoors and indoors.
Sea Animals Museum
※ Penguin Kingdom closed in February 2022. Currently, you can see penguins at the Sea Animals Museum.
You can see various types of penguins at the Sea Animals Museum. There was also an aquarium in front of the building where we could see penguins.
Dolphin Friendly Pool
At the Dolphin Friendly Pool, you can watch dolphins swimming right in front of your eyes. The charming dolphins are so cute. You can also use the "Dolphin Snack Time" where you can feed the dolphins, although advance reservations are required for a fee.
The Big Ocean
At Big Ocean, a marine live show called "Smiles" is held by various types of dolphins and their trainers. The 20-minute show is very interesting and highly recommended. Admission is free, but the number of times and times are fixed, so if you want to watch, please check the times.
Walking Safari
At Adventure World's Safari World, many animals are kept close to their natural habitat. You can explore by riding in a special jeep or train-type vehicle, which I will explain later, but you can also explore on foot. (For a fee, you can also ride a bicycle or a special cart to get around.) Most of the animals you can see are herbivores, but you can also see some carnivores.
Entry to Safari World is free, so you can freely explore at your own pace. On the day of our visit, we only had a short time to look around on foot before the safari tour started.
Jeep Safari Tour
Safari World offers a variety of paid tours. Here we will introduce a safari tour using a jeep. (At the time I visited, it was the Jeep Safari Tour, but the name has now changed to the Jeep Safari Explore Tour, and advance reservations are required).
Meet at the start time of the tour and board the tour vehicle, such as a jeep.
Go on a safari while riding in a car.
Get out of the car and feed the southern white rhinoceros. Feeding the giant white rhinos while being surrounded by them is quite impressive.
Get back in the car and see carnivorous animals such as lions and bears.
We got off the car again at a place where there was an enclosure for lions and other animals, looked at the lion cubs, and fed the lions.
We got back in the car and went to see the carnivores.

The Animal Land
At The Animal Land, "Animal Action" performances are held by various animals. The performance lasts approximately 20 minutes and features sea lions, pigs, Harris Hawks, and more. Admission is free, but the number of times and times are fixed, so if you want to watch, please check the times.
Feeling Area
You can also see a variety of animals at the Feeling Area.
Other facilities such as Play Zone
The Play Zone includes a merry-go-round and a roller coaster. This time I didn't have much time so I couldn't ride most of the rides, but I was able to ride the Ferris wheel.
You can play with many dogs at the Wanwan Garden.

Mount Koya
Mount Koya is a sacred site of Shingon Buddhism located in the northern part of Wakayama Prefecture. It was founded in 816 by Kobo Daishi as a meditation dojo. Located in a basin at an altitude of about 850m and surrounded by mountains, the area is referred to as Mount Koya because the mountain name of Kongobuji Temple is Mount Koya. In addition to many famous sites such as Okunoin and Danjo Garan, Mount Koya offers the experience of staying in temple lodgings, known as shukubo, where visitors can partake in shojin-ryori and engage in activities like sutra copying.
